You’ll always be such a catastrophe

Dear females…

Dear females who want to make it in the music business… or any business for that matter. Remember to have respect for yourself. Remember that the Internet, while a wonderful invention, is also a world where nothing, and I mean nothing, can be erased. This world is big, but very, very small, and nothing remains a secret. I don’t care who told you “I’ll never show anyone” or “between me and you” because guess what… that doesn’t happen. Also, be careful what you say, because as “loose” as the industry seems, there is quite the double standard, where girls are judged while guys are praised. 

I’ve seen a lot and I am just trying to look out for some of you. While touring and working with bands may seem like it’s magical, it’s not all rainbows and butterflies. I’m not hanging out with the headlining band shot gunning beers while on tour, in fact, I rarely if never see the band themselves. 

These thoughts have been brewing for awhile now and I hope they are not taken the wrong way. I, obviously, am a girl and I love music. Heck, I still wish I could be one of those cool looking groupie girls who just always look so flawless, but the fact of the matter is, trying too hard doesn’t get you in that position. So, moral of the story, save the kissy face bikini pictures for your serious boyfriend, reevaluate the reasons why you want to be in the music industry, and *try* to keep a clear head (something I’ve yet to master).
